Helping Our Neighbors In Need

Oil Heat Cares Helps a Mother and Daughter

Joe Vitale, of Vitale & Son Heating, was called to diagnose a broken, dangerous heating system for a mother and daughter in Moscow, PA.

“We found that there was a bad heat exchanger releasing carbon monoxide into the home,” Joe said. “So unfortunately we had to red tag the system and take it out of service. The customer paid me for the diagnostic fee. Shortly after I left, I received a polite text message asking if could set up weekly payment plans for replacing the furnace. The family simply could not afford it.”

The homeowner’s husband had recently passed. She is living with her daughter who is pregnant. They both have full-time jobs.

Joe knew they needed help and knew OESP would be there.

“So, I contacted Pippy Ostrow from F.W. Webb to see what we were able to do to help them out,” Joe said. “She reminded me about the Oil Heat Cares program. So we applied on behalf of this family and were pleased to learn the job was accepted.”

Thank you to Boyertown Furnace Company who donated the furnace, and F.W Webb who donated all the extra materials. Joe donated his company’s time, as well as any additional materials.

Oil Heat Cares is pleased to serve yet another needy family during these difficult times.
