New York City Chapter Project 1
The Cirera Family home has two apartments. They reside in one and her mother, who is receiving cancer therapy, lives in the other. In its day, many years ago, this boiler probably was a beauty. Smiles all around – employees of Combind Oil, members of the Cirera Family and Angel Gonzalez (right)
Early December 07, Angel Gonzalez, Combind Oil Corp., New York City Chapter, spearheaded the first project done by this chapter. The Cirera Family was identified by Angel as an excellent candidate. Their boiler quite likely was original to the house. It was converted from coal in 1947 and had burner upgrades, but the time was at hand for a new boiler. The family was under a great deal of financial pressure and a new installation of the needed boiler wasn’t in the cards.

When it came to the installation, it was a family affair – a Cirera family friend helped make modifications to a door so that the boiler could be delivered to the boiler room and family members assisted with moving stored items so a work area could be made and the volunteers from Combind Oil installed a new Burnham V86 package boiler along with hot water tankless coil.
As with many OHC projects, donations and discounts are made.

Hydrolevel donated product, Consolidated Plumbing Supply, Westchester Square Plumbing Supply and East New York Supply provided needed products at discounted prices.
