New Haven Chapter Project 2
Getting the new tank ready for the upcoming winter months George McQueeney and Chapter President, Dan Gentile make sure everything is just right. OHC and New Haven Chapter do their part to help break the cycle of poverty through education.
The New Haven Chapter came to the rescue of The St. Martin de Porres Academy, Hamden, CT. The school is a faith-based tuition free school for low income families in the Greater New Haven area. The goal of the school is, “prepare each student for a quality high school and college education”. A school day for the 5th and 6th grade students is 11-hours. All students receive academic tutoring, extra-curricular, enrichment activities and activities plus three meals.

After two years of existence in the area, the school learned that a new furnace and oil tank was needed for the administrative office. The New Haven Chapter got involved. The participants included President, Dan Gentile, Wesson Energy; George McQueeney, East River Energy; George Perrelli, Perrelli & Sons and Mike Stevens of Bell/Simons, New Haven provided the equipment at a discounted rate.

A special thanks go to the installers of the new equipment - technician Ray Steward and apprentice, Nate Terribile both of East River Energy.
