Oil Heat Cares At NAOHSM's 51st convention, attendees were invited to get involved with Oil Heat Cares. What's that you might ask? Well, it's a project that grew out of an idea sparked between Dan Holohan and Judy Garber, Executive Administrator for NAOHSM. The Oil Heat Cares Project is supported by the Oil Heating Industry with NAOHSM administering the project. The purpose of the program is to reach out to those in our neighborhoods that need a temporary helping hand. Fund raising is an important element of the project. The funds are used to purchase equipment needed for identified projects. NAOHSM chapter members are being challenged to work together to install the equipment at no cost to the recipient. What we are finding is that many manufacturers have been quite generous. They've actually donated the needed equipment thus helping us do more projects this first year. Since its inception, funds have been coming in - chapters have donated money, NAOHSM and OMA has donated money, a benefit seminar held and more. As a matter of fact, the 2nd benefit seminar will be held at the New England Institute of Technology, Warwick, RI, June 14-15, 2005. Oilheatcares.com showcases our many contributors and the jobs completed. It's a great way to promote oilheating as an excellent product and demonstrate the fact that its an industry made up of friends and neighbors willing to help each other.
