 2008 Hartford Care to Ride Event
They walked, ran, rode bikes and motorcycles all for common goal – raising awareness and funds for Oil Heat Cares The spirit of excitement was in the air as participants gathered. First the run, next the bicycles and walkers and finally the motorcycles took off. Every participant pledged a minimum of $100.00 for the cause. Teams pledged $600.00. Again this year – yes 3rd in a row, Roger Marran raised the most money for OHC. This year though Kevin Rooney, one of the Directors of Oil Heat Cares, gave Roger a friendly run for his money by creating his own event. Since Kevin prefers golf, he got his friends and acquaintances to sponsor a hole and he raised $4425.00 thru this effort. Between the many corporate sponsors and participants over $70,000 was raised. Our 4th annual Care to Ride event will be held on Monday, May 18, 2009 – Hershey PA. |
