 Oilheat Cares Benefit Raises Some Serious Green Thanks to a seminar done by Dan Holohan, “The World of Green Heating” and the money raised, from a raffle Oil Heat Cares received about $6500.00. Nobody takes care of its customers like the Oilheat Industry. Most companies offer 24 hour service, 365 days of the year – and they have customer’s keys, they know their families and share in their joys, sadness and more. That description sums up what Oilheat Cares is all about. We know those customers that have financial difficulties through no fault of their own and they are honest hard working people. There are plenty of things people can give up but safety and a warm home are not in that category. OHC began in 2005 and we have helped many, many people and organizations get new oil heating appliances. Young people who are enrolled in tech schools have had an opportunity to work with our members on projects; for example, the Susquehanna Valley, Pioneer Valley and New York City Chapters have partnered with the students and instructors and it has been a great learning experience – not just from the technical standpoint but also they have had a chance to know what it feels like to give back to people in their communities. We can’t do it without financial support. Annually co-founder of Oil Heat Cares, Dan Holohan, continues to volunteer his time to do a benefit seminar. Our latest seminar was held January 15th in Springfield, PA. Our sponsor, Peerless Boilers®, paid the bill and the end result was all proceeds went to Oil Heat Cares. At the same time, ServoPro (Western Essex and Central Union Counties, NJ) donated 4 tickets to a Jets game season 2010/2011. From that raffle $2600.00 was raised and the winning ticket was pulled by Dan Holohan – the winner was John Levey, Nassau-Suffolk Chapter. Our next major fundraiser will be held in Hershey, PA – Monday, May 23rd – our annual Care to Ride event is held during the annual convention of NAOHSM (National Association of Oilheating Service Managers) May 22-26th. |
